Herman Suem -
Bass Guitar, Acoustic Guitar, Lead Vocals, Backup Vocals
Since Herman's father was a minister he started playing guitar in church at the age of 15. A few years later, he picked up the bass guitar and found his first love per se. He continued playing bass in church, and on a few gospel CD's. As he got older he began to play in a bluegrass/country band. Herman moved to Morgantown and began to play for Subway. He fell in love with the music and the band. Herman had never really listened to much 'Oldies or 'Motown, but after joining Subway, he has come to really love and appreciate such greats as James Jammerson and The Funk Brothers.
Herman feels that joining the band has really made him a better and more well rounded musician.
After being in the band for 3 years, Herman's parents fell ill and he was forced to move to Kentucky. While there, he started a band of his own called "Prairie Fire." However, he still kept in close contact with Subway. Four years later, Herman found the opportunity to move back to Morgantown and did so.
He is back with Subway and he feels like the band is even better than before. He feels like he is home and home to stay. Herman says, "look out everyone, Subway is here to rock you into the 1950's and funk you into the 21st century. Nothing's gonna stop us now!"
